I like it and don't regret a minute that I have spent there. The BF is a beautiful area and there are endless hidden little corners to discover. Anything north of there I just know from my research, though general points should still apply. I have spent quite a bit of time in the BF due to family links, but my experience only really around the southern Hoch Schwarzwald and just goes as far north as the Titisee.
